Description
[MC] Forum Layouts expands XenForo’s default forum index with two purpose-built forum layouts: Fluid view and Card view. These are directly inspired by Invision Community 5’s forum layouts
Two additional forum layouts:
Fluid view: A live-filtered, paginated (or infinite-scrolling) feed of threads aggregated across the forums a member chooses. Designed for members who want "show me what's new" rather than "let me pick a forum first."
Card view: Forum cards with cover images and latest-topics preview. Categories become section headers rather than full node rows.
Fluid view:
Forum filter: Click a forum to narrow the feed; click a category to select all forums underneath. State persists via cookie, so the feed is the same next time members visit.
Collapses into a single button and overlay modal upon responsive breakpoints.
Includes four navigation styles:
Pagination
Load more
Load more with pagination
Infinite scrolling
Pinned stickies: Three handling modes; pin every sticky at the top, feature only admin-selected stickies per-forum (others sort inline), or ignore sticky flags entirely and sort chronologically.
Density: Compact renders default thread listing, while comfortable expands the layout for more readability.
Optional unread indicator for comfortable density
Supports FontAwesome Node Icons by Xon, overriding default squircles.
Card view
Per-forum cover image upload,
Subforum Displays: Three modes for how a forum's subforums render inside its card: dropdown, inline or grid.
Latest topics preview: Each card surfaces the most recent N threads inline
Link forums render as cards with an explicit “Visit” button.
Page forums render as cards as well
Link forums and page forums have an advanced option exclusive to card view that allows you to place custom HTML where the thread rows would be. You may also choose to extend your custom HTML to the full width of the card.
Other features:
Can choose default layout on forum index
Includes a front-end layout toggle to choose layout, which can be disabled
Users can also define their layout preference inside their account preferences, if you choose to not allow the front-end layout toggle.
Includes user group permission for who is allowed to change their layout. Default layout overrides this.
Full style properties for customizing each layout.
